How long have you been guiding hunters? We have been offering exclusive guided hunts since 1994.
How do I get there? Click here for driving directions to the ranch. We are located 75 miles southwest of Bismarck, ND. If you are flying, you can fly into Bismarck, ND and rent a car or truck and drive out to our place. Note, the turn before Carson, off highway 21, is 54 Ave (gravel road). After the 12 1/2 miles south, you will then turn right at the corner of 81 1/2 St and 56 Ave (Brinkman mailbox). Follow that road approximately 2 1/2 miles into the ranch.
What are the season dates? North Dakota pheasant season runs October through December. If you prefer to hunt earlier, North Dakota grouse and partridge season starts in September. The hunting is incredible all season, do not be surprised if you see hundreds of pheasants each day!
What are the game limits? You are allowed 3 pheasant, 3 grouse, and 3 partridge a day and a possession limit of 12 of each species.
How can we obtain a license? An out of state license can be purchased online and printed by visiting the ND Game and Fish Department. If you were born after 1961 you will need to have completed a hunters safety course to purchase a ND license.
Are the hunts guided? We provide a licensed guide for each group. As a member of the Outdoor Guides Association of North Dakota, it is our policy that our guides are licensed by the North Dakota Game and Fish Department and are certified in CPR.
What should we expect for land access? We have access to just under 10,000 acres of privately owned land which includes thousands of acres of rolling grasslands, CRP fields, river bottoms, food plots, wooded ravines, and tree rows surrounded by wheat and corn fields.
What is a normal day of hunting like? Your hunt is personalized to fit your hunting style and experience. Generally, we start the day with breakfast at 7:00 am and hit the fields by 8:30 am. We take a break for a light lunch around noon then head back to the field. At the end of the day, I can help you clean birds and show you different techniques to make the job easier and faster. Now it’s time for you to kick back and enjoy the evening meal and reminisce about the days events.
Will we be hunting or lodging with other groups? We do not mix hunting groups. Your party will have exclusive access to several thousand acres. Most likely you will not even see another hunter the whole time you are here.
What will lodging include? The cabin is located in a beautiful country setting. We provide sheets, towels, stove, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, plates, kettles, skillets, silverware, grill, TV with streaming options and WiFi. All the basics you have in your house are here. The cabin will accommodate 4-6 people and we have more lodging available if needed.
What are our options for meals? You have two options: 1) you bring groceries and use the kitchen in the cabin or 2) eat at the local cafe (20 minutes away).
Can we bring our own dog? You are welcome to bring your dogs and kennel them right at the cabin.
What does a hunt cost? Prices are listed on this site. There are no hidden costs.
When should we book our hunt? We do not run hundreds of hunters through our property. Instead, we strive to give a few lucky hunters an experience of a lifetime. This means we have limited hunts available. We book according to who gets their 50% deposit in first to hold the dates. It is best to book early as some groups return every year and others every other year. Decide what dates you want to hunt and call or email me. We try to be very flexible.
What should be expected for temperatures? October is usually 30 degrees in the morning and 60 in the afternoon. November & December are usually 10-15 degrees colder. Dress in layers and wear comfortable boots.
What items should I bring? You will need coolers to transport birds home. Warm clothing that you can layer to accommodate cooler and warmer temperatures. We also encourage our hunters to wear some type of hunter orange clothing for increased safety while hunting. You will need a shotgun, plenty of shells and your license. We supply snacks and beverages throughout the day to keep you going in the field.
Do you have references we can contact? We encourage you to contact our references to get a good feel for what we are all about.
